What District AI Does for Your Team Now

Teammates on every plan with no seat fee, after-hours greetings, VIP callers, transcript translation and call analytics, and how to use each one.

A business phone is rarely one person with one phone. There is an owner, a few people who take calls, and a line that rings after hours. This release is for them. Here is what changed, in the order you are likely to notice it.

Your team, on every plan

The workspace owner can now add teammates from Workspaces in the web dashboard, change their roles and remove them. There is no limit and no seat fee, on every plan. Each teammate gets an invitation email in English or French.

In the Inbox on the web dashboard, you can now assign a conversation to a teammate. They get a notification in the District AI apps, and the "Assigned to me" filter shows them what is theirs.

When you're closed, or the caller needs a person

Set an after-hours greeting and instructions in District Studio, under Persona. When a call comes in while you are closed, District AI uses them and tells the caller when you next open, going by your opening hours and any closures you have confirmed. Without opening hours and a time zone, every call gets your usual greeting.

Each call type can now name a person from your call directory, under "Put through to" in Call types and fields. When a call is clearly that type, District AI offers to put the caller through to them.

Turn on "Ring me first for VIP callers" in Call handling, and a call from a contact marked VIP rings the District AI apps, then your phone, before District AI answers. If nobody picks up, District AI answers.

A caller who asks to leave a voicemail is put through to your own phone line, where they can leave it in that line's voicemail if nobody answers. District AI stores no audio of it. If you have not set a line, District AI takes a written message instead.

Bookings, translation and analytics

When a caller has no email address, District AI can now book an appointment with just their name and phone number, in Google and Microsoft calendars. If your number can send texts, they get the confirmation by text.

Open a call on the web dashboard and choose Translate to see its transcript and summary in your language. You can also pick any of the ten languages offered: English, French, Spanish, German, Italian, Portuguese, Chinese (simplified), Japanese, Korean or Hindi. The translation runs in your workspace's region and is deleted with the call's transcript.

Analytics on the web dashboard now show what happened on your calls: how many ended in a booking, a transfer or a message taken, the topics callers raised most, and the sentiment District AI read from each call's transcript.

Texting that respects the person on the other end

District AI now keeps a record of each contact's consent to be texted, shown on their contact card: how they gave it (by texting you first, by sending START, or by being texted during a call they made) and when. An automated text from District AI or your workflows goes to a caller within 24 hours of their last call or text. After that, it goes only with their consent, and only between 8am and 9pm their time.

Caller ID and numbers

The workspace owner can verify their own mobile once, under Profile and security, and show it as the caller ID on District AI calls they confirm in District HQ, so callbacks reach them directly. It works where the business number's carrier allows it. The setting warns that these calls carry a weaker caller ID attestation and that some phones may label them as possible spam. Campaigns, transfers and every other call keep showing the business number.

If you need more numbers than your plan includes, you can now add up to five more local or toll-free numbers at US$5, CA$7 or €5 a month each, plus applicable taxes. Compare the plans to see how many each one includes.

Support and privacy

Support requests you file from the dashboard on the Pro and Studio plans now go to a priority queue, with a reply target of the same business day.

We have also rewritten parts of our privacy policy to say plainly what we do not keep: no call audio, no voiceprints, and no session replay or screen recording on our website, dashboard or apps. The Sovereign portal now describes the tenant isolation and encryption we actually run, rather than general terms.

Getting it

Translation, analytics and the texting rules need nothing from you. Invite your teammates from the dashboard, and turn on "Ring me first for VIP callers" if you want your most important callers to reach a person first.

Frequently asked questions

Does adding teammates cost anything?

No. On every plan you can add as many teammates as you need, with no seat fee. The only new charge in this release is for phone numbers beyond your plan's allowance: up to five more, at US$5, CA$7 or €5 a month each, plus applicable taxes.

Do I need to turn these features on?

Mostly not. Translation, the new analytics and the texting rules are on for every workspace, and you invite teammates from the dashboard. The after-hours greeting and call-type transfers are set in District Studio. VIP ring-first is the "Ring me first for VIP callers" switch in Call handling, and a contact becomes a VIP with the "VIP caller" switch on their contact card.

Is a call recorded so it can be translated?

No. Calls are transcribed, never recorded. Translation works on the transcript and summary, runs in your workspace's region, and is deleted with the call's transcript.
